We are looking for a reliable and skilled Snow Removal Operator to safely operate equipment during winter weather events. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, works well under pressure, and can manage early mornings, overnight shifts, and changing schedules during snow events.
Equipment Operation
Safely operate snow removal equipment such as:
- Skid steers
- Loaders
- Pickup trucks with plows
- Salters/spreaders
- Sidewalk machines (if applicable)
- Clear snow from parking lots, driveways, walkways, and roadways.
- Apply salt, sand, or other de-icing materials as required.
Site Management
- Follow site maps and instructions accurately.
- Monitor weather conditions and respond quickly to service calls.
- Identify hazards such as ice buildup, drifting snow, or required re-plows.
- Ensure properties are safe and meet company quality standards.
Safety & Maintenance
- Inspect and maintain assigned equipment before and after operation.
- Report equipment failures, damages, or unsafe conditions promptly.
- Use proper PPE and follow all company safety protocols.
- Keep work areas, yards, and vehicles clean and organized.
Teamwork & Communication
- Coordinate with dispatch and supervisors throughout the event.
- Communicate delays, site issues, or additional service needs.
- Work cooperatively with other operators and sidewalk crews.
Qualifications
- Experience operating snow removal equipment required (skid steer or plow truck).
- Valid driver’s license; clean abstract preferred.
- Ability to work long and irregular hours during storms.
- Strong awareness of safety, surroundings, and machine limits.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Ability to read site maps and follow instructions.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in extreme cold, wind, and low visibility.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs (salt bags, shovels, etc.).
- Able to sit for long periods while operating equipment.
Compensation
- Hourly wage starting at $30.00 based on experience and equipment type.
- Potential for year-round work with landscaping division (optional).
